Extra Credit - Motion Video - 6 points on a test

Come see me before or after class if you're interested in doing this extra credit.
You must get approval from me before you start filming your project.

I am looking for a few people to do some digital videotaping for me. You will be asked to videotape an everyday activity showing some motion. (see below). Later on I will put this videotape online so we can study it in class.

Here are a few examples of some things I'd like to videotape:

  • A person jumping off a high diving board and simultaneously dropping a basketball.
  • Skateboarder performing a jump or trick

*** If you have any good ideas of your own let me know

In order to qualify for this extra credit you need to:

1. own a digital camera or have access to one.

2. have the ability to transfer the video to a computer and burn it to a CD

Your video file must have the following format

  • QuickTime format (.mov) OR mpeg format
  • Pixel dimension of about 320 x 480

Videotaping Checklist

  • Your camera must be held completely still !

  • The camera should be as close as possible to the action

  • The camera must be centered on whatever you're filming

  • You must film in a place with a lot of light         
____
  • Each motion video should be no more than 4 seconds

  • File saved in QuickTime format (.mov) OR mpeg format

  • Pixel dimension around of file about 320 x 480
